Bedrooms
The Montcalm has a total of 120 bedrooms, duplexes and suites and is renowned for its specially designed low allergen bedroom. All of the guest rooms have en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, colour television, high speed internet access, mini-bar, trouser presses and in-house video films. Included in this total features 3 luxury penthouse suites and a number of highly distinctive duplex suites with spiral staircases and large Georgian windows overlooking the tree-lined Crescent.
London's First Low Allergen Hotel Bedroom
The Montcalm Hotel has designed and installed a low allergen bedroom specifically for sufferers of asthma and related allergies. All furnishings were chosen because they reduce the incidence of dust mites and pollen, and are low on irritants. The mattress is encased in dust mite proof casing. The fabrics - bed linen, blankets, bedspread and curtains - are made of fully washable materials which do not require chemical dry cleaning. Leather has been used to upholster the chairs and the floor is a wood laminate which can be damp-wiped to avoid vacuuming.
The windows are sealed to prevent pollution from outside and the room is fully air-conditioned with special filters for re-circulation and fresh air supply. All the paints selected are water-based, even those used on the woodwork.
Every aspect of the room has been considered right down to the private bar refrigerator which is not operated on harmful gasses. Naturally this is a non-smoking room.- Executive Single: Executive single rooms feature an extra wide120 cm bed; individual controlled air-conditioning, high speed internet access; a working desk with direct dial telephone and voicemail; satellite television, CNN, JS TV and in-room safe. Fully stocked minibar with superior snacks available. Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. - Executive Double / Twin: Executive double room has choice of one double or two single beds and features individually controlled air-conditioning, high speed internet access; a working desk with direct dial telephone and voicemail; satellite television, CNN, JS TV and in-room safe. Fully stocked minibar with superior snacks available. Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. In the stylish marble bathrooms, power shower, a bath robe and a full range of guest amenities are provided. Room size approximately 23 square metres.
- Family Room: Family room has two double beds plus a sofa bed, max 4 people ( 2 adults and 2 children). A relaxed atmosphere and expert service provide an ideal complement to the memorable modern British cooking of the talented chef. Representing excellent value, The Crescent's lunch costs £21.00 for 2 courses inclusive of two glasses of recommended wines. A three course lunch is £27.00 inclusive of one glass of recommended wines.

Japanese breakfast at The Montcalm Hotel Crescent Restaurant is certainly unusual but so delicious that it has to be experienced to be appreciated. as must the amazingly invigorating effect that this healthy, low calorie meal has on the body. The healthy attributes of the breakfast are numerous, Miso (made from fermented soya bean) is high in vitamin B, seaweed is rich in minerals and reputedly purifies the blood of pollution, natural pickles aid digestion and the positive effects of the oily fishes on the brain and joints have been well documented. It consists of a choice of Grilled Salmon, Aji or Tara fish with Miso, Gohan (steamed rice), miso soup with spring onion and Tofu, dried seaweed and a soft, creamy 'agitated' egg accompanied by a slice of melon and Japanese tea.
The combination of the Japanese breakfast and the delightful Crescent restaurant is a perfect tonic for any morning. No wonder that members of the European business community are increasingly choosing Japanese breakfast in preference to the English variety. Japanese breakfast costs £19.95 per person and is served daily between 7am and 10am (7.30am and 11.00am Saturday and Sunday).
